Ophena De La Rosa (she/they) is an upcoming Chicago-based costume designer. She graduated from UC Davis in June 2022 as a Human Development and Theatre & Dance dual major. While at Davis, she spent most of her time in the Costume Shop basement as a Costume Shop Assistant. When not in the Costume Shop, she worked with children at Davis Kids Klub or the UC Davis Early Childhood Laboratory. After graduating, she combined her passions for Education and Performance Arts, working at Broadway Sacramento as an Education & Community Engagement Department Assistant, where she promoted accessible arts, musical theatre camps, internships, and opportunities for those who would otherwise be unable to attend the theatre. After moving to Chicago, she was given the incredible privilege of assisting Christine Pascual's work at Court Theatre and TimeLine while simultaneously designing for Governors State University. She is excited to continue bringing characters’ stories to life through the art of costuming and collaboration.
